This month PRSA puts an extra spotlight on Ethics and the importance of members keeping our Code Of Ethics front and center every day.

Because the foundation of PRSA was built on our Code of Ethics 75 years ago, being a member allows you to signal to the rest of the world that the excellent work you deliver is always professional and mindful of ethical considerations. It connotes that you’ll do the right thing and responsibly serve the public interest and your clients and organization’s leaders in your campaigns, your content, and your guidance.

Here are a few actions you can take now during Ethics Month, and whenever you need a refresher on what ethical practice means:

  1. Review the PRSA Code of Ethics. Download a copy from the PRSA national website or Cincinnati Chapter website.
  2. Visit and use the PRSA Ethics Resources page. There you will find not only the Code, but you can get help understanding the code and our PRSA values. You’ll also find:
    • Case studies, for example: A Deepfake Apology Scenario and more.
    • Position papers from our national board of ethics and professional standards such as Paid Spokespersons and Influencers and Native Advertising & Sponsored Content, Overstating Fees and Compensation and more.
    • Current articles and blogs from PRSay and PRSA Strategies &Tactics publications
    • The latest advisories from ethical standards (ESAs), for example: ESA #20 on Ethics & Social Media

Happy Ethics Month, Cincinnati PRSA! #EthicsMatter
