The Motion Agency Deepens Cincinnati Roots with Vehr Communications Acquisition

The Cincinnati communications community is getting a little more connected.
The Motion Agency has announced its acquisition of Cincinnati-based Vehr Communications, bringing together two independent, integrated marketing communications agencies with deep ties to the Greater Cincinnati region.
The acquisition marks another significant investment in Cincinnati for Motion, Chicago’s largest certified woman-owned marketing communications agency. Motion first established a Cincinnati presence through its acquisition of Rick Miller Communications in 2023 and has continued to grow its team and capabilities in the market.
“Adding the Vehr Communications team further bolsters Motion's presence in one of the Midwest's most respected marketing and branding hubs,” said Kimberly Eberl, CEO and founder of Motion and a Cincinnati native. “With this latest acquisition, Motion is investing in Cincinnati's future and not just participating in it. We are doubling down on a core belief that the future of brand building is being shaped in cities like Chicago, Cincinnati and other Midwest communities.”
For Vehr Communications founder and CEO Nick Vehr, the partnership also reflects the strength of Cincinnati and the Midwest as a home for the communications industry.
“Cincinnati has always played an outsized role in shaping the region’s marketing and public relations industry with its world-leading consumer products, financial services and manufacturing companies,” Vehr said. “This partnership allows us to build on that legacy while providing access to expanded capabilities and resources.”
The combination will bring Motion to nearly 90 professionals across Cincinnati, Chicago and Nashville, with expanded creative, digital and communications expertise available to clients. Vehr will continue with Motion as an Executive Vice President focused on business development and growth.
The two agencies also share strong connections to Cincinnati’s professional communications community. Vehr Communications has received multiple industry awards from PRSA Cincinnati, as well as the local chapters of the American Marketing Association and American Advertising Federation.
