The Power of PRSA: A Message from President Allison Schroeder
Dear Cincinnati PRSA members,
I realize I’m a little late in getting this letter to you, despite having the seemingly longest January and fastest February on record to complete. Please allow me to take a moment to thank you for being a part of this incredible organization and entrusting me as president to champion Cincinnati PRSA during a very important year.
Supporting you, the practitioner
My commitment as chapter president, first and foremost, is to provide support to you, our membership.
This year is going to involve some major media moments, heated conversations and the potential for divisive rhetoric. When situations like this arise, communications professionals often find themselves in the crosshairs: under pressure and exhausted.
We will soon be announcing a robust programming schedule to cover real issues to help practitioners face our unique challenges, while supporting mental health resources. I hope to see you at these events!
If there’s a specific topic that you’d like to see covered at a future event, please don’t hesitate to let me know.
Getting Involved
Speaking from my own experience, I can say that PRSA is truly one of those organizations in which involvement begets opportunity.
Referrals, collaborations and dear friends have been made thanks to this involvement, which has, in turn, made me a better, more grounded practitioner.
I want to thank this year’s board, which is a dynamic bunch that I’m confident will lead us through the year in exciting new ways. I look forward to celebrating their accomplishments in their respective roles. That said, there are still some open seats and we would love to see some new faces. If you’re interested in joining the leadership team, please contact me!
Share your PRSA experience
PR pros are a social bunch and while we’re often shilling for others, I’d love to see the various ways that you engage and represent PRSA either through daily activities or our organized events. Please follow our pages and tag us!
In addition, we are continuing to prioritize our relationships with local universities to help foster the next generation of dynamic and diverse professionals. This is a collaborative effort, as many of us engage with universities in a variety of capacities. If applicable, I encourage you to share your experiences with PRSA to these future new pros.

Finally, I invite you to take a moment and review PRSA’s code of ethics. This is a great time to review what we represent as members of this great organization.
I am honored to be representing Cincinnati PRSA this year and look forward to celebrating your wins throughout the year and seeing you at an event very soon.
